I did have fun on Saturday ;u; If I may share my unpopular opinion first: I always really like the idea of conventions but about two hours into my first day at one I always realize that they’re more fun in theory. I don’t like being in big crowds for extended periods of time, they just annoy me and it’s kind of hot with everyone so close together and it’s tiring spending all day walking around a convention center. Maybe since this summer hasn’t been the happiest for me I just wasn’t looking forward to it as much as I could have been and that colored my mood. Regardless, even though we only went one day I did have fun. I would have liked to include photos in this post but tumblr is being a giant buttface and giving me issues so just text, sorry.
We preregistered so there were no lines for us! Once we got there we met up with some of Sarah’s friends from high school who we met last year, and we also got to see a handful of people from college. That was one of my favorite parts, since they were all seniors who had just graduated so I won’t get to see them next year. The main attraction was the Dealer’s Room because really, who doesn’t like spending extravagant amounts of money on cool things they don’t really need? xD
I got my plushie, as per usual. Okay, well I got two xD Cure Blossom was just too cute to pass up, and there was an artist in the Artist’s Alley selling these adorable cupcake kitties so I got one. Plushies are one of my biggest weaknesses ;;;; I also scored a devious little Adachi keychain. They were selling these little P4 keychains last year too, and I bought Yosuke, and I was really hoping they had them again this year because I thought maybe a Nanako or a Teddie would be cute too but then I saw Adachi and I was like “they didn’t have Adachi last year oh yes I’m buying him.” And finally I bought two Shinigami rings :> Couldn’t buy just one because God forbid I be unsymmetrical, but I think they’re really cool ;A;
We also saw the AMV contest like we did last year because AMVs are awesome. This year there were at least 5 Madoka AMVs P: Like, I like Madoka AMVs, don’t get me wrong, but I couldn’t understand why five of them made the finals, that seems a bit excessive. There was a Princess Tutu one that I really liked though. Most of them were actually really good, so it was an enjoyable contest.
Afterwards we went out to dinner and we spent the rest of our weekend watching Thor and almost an entire season of Scrubs :> Spending time with my roommates was more important to me than the con.
